Fitness enthusiasts will soon have another option in the City of Enterprise when a new free outdoor fitness court and studio opens later this year behind the highly anticipated Enterprise Recreation and Aquatics Center.
The National Fitness Campaign (NFC) Fitness Court is intended for adults of all ages and abilities to develop healthy habits and maintain long-term wellness. It is designed with seven zones, creating a circuit training workout in just seven minutes. The Fitness Court Studio adds an outdoor classroom space, which can be utilized for fitness classes and training programs.
“The addition of an NFC Fitness Court and Fitness Court Studio brings a new level of functional fitness to our community,” Enterprise Director of Community Services and Recreation Billy Powell said. “We are thrilled to offer this unique approach to working out to the citizens of Enterprise at no charge, thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, as well as many other sponsors.”

Enterprise City Council in April 2023 accepted a $40,000 grant from the NFC Grant Committee in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama Campaign. The city agreed to provide a local match of $150,000 to promote and implement the facility.
“We are reaching out to local businesses to become sponsors and donors for this outdoor gym that brings free, world-class fitness to everyone,” Enterprise Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator Krista Hooper said. “Not only will these businesses see their company’s logo on the Fitness Court, but it will also be highlighted Enterprise Parks and Recreation website NFC landing page. This is a one-time sponsorship meaning a sponsor’s logo or name will be on the court and our website landing page permanently for many years to come.”
