Naia Lasso took victory in the women’s final at the skateboarding’s WST Dubai Park 2024 event on Sunday (3 March). In a field featuring three Japanese, two American and two Australian skaters, the 15-year-old from Spain’s Basque region put down a near-perfect second run to take first place. Ikee clocked 57.30 to take second in the women’s 100m butterfly at the Japanese swimming trials on Monday (18 March), going under the qualifying time of 57.34 and securing a quota for her third consecutive Games. 2024 JAPANESE OLYMPIC TRIALS After a somber night where no swimmer earned an Olympic qualification time, the Japanese Olympic Trials saw a turnaround this evening in Tokyo. A trio of athletes made the grade, including Tomoyuki Matsushita in the men’s 400m IM, along with Mizuki Hirai and Rikako Ikee in the women’s 100m fly.
