Hoskin, 24, is likely to be a member of the New Zealand K4 crew that will head to this year’s Paris Olympics. Ikee Rikako secured a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – by all of 0.01 seconds. Ikee clocked 57.30 to take second in the women’s 100m butterfly at the Japanese swimming trials on Monday (18 March), going under the qualifying time of 57.34 and securing a quota for her third consecutive Games. But while Ikee had surrendered first place to 17-year-old Hirai Mizukilittle did she know that third-place Matsumoto Shiho was charging fast at the wall. Three Swimmers Earn Olympic Berths On Day 2 Of Japanese Trials

2024 JAPANESE OLYMPIC TRIALS After a somber night where no swimmer earned an Olympic qualification time, the Japanese Olympic Trials saw a turnaround this evening in Tokyo. A trio of athletes made the grade, including Tomoyuki Matsushita in the men’s 400m IM, along with Mizuki Hirai and Rikako Ikee in the women’s 100m fly. The surprises were that Tomoru Honda missed the men’s 400m IM final while Daiya Seto missed the qualification time when finishing with the silver behind Matsushita.
